Creating a Culture of Life

It appears God is answering prayer! A new Gallup poll discloses that more Americans are now pro-life than pro-choice. This is a significant breakthrough in countless prayers for God to create a culture of life in America. Perhaps this is the beginning of the Malachi 4 promise to turn the hearts of the fathers and mothers to the children and vice versa? Continue to lift your voice in prayer, it is not too late for God to shift an entire nation.

The Call for Forerunners

John the baptist had a “burning” heart and a “shining lamp”. The Bible says he was a ‘voice’–a Nazirite who spent years in the wilderness praying and fasting, forsaking the fancy robes of religion for the camel’s hair of self-denial and obedience unto the Lord. His voice caused many to repent and turn to God. Thousands flocked to the desert to witness him, but the point of his ministry was not to have a big ministry. Rather, his calling was a a ‘forerunner’ who would prepare the way of the Lord. Through years of intercession and fasting in the wilderness he was causing the obstacles to be made low and preparing a highway of holiness.

The Sacred Charge is a charge of 7 commitments to help equip and train up forerunners in the spirit of John the Baptist. I have purposed in my heart to embrace these 7 commitments. God travels on the highway of voluntary agreement with His people as they partner with Him.

I encourage you to examine your heart in these areas. You may not be able to make an extravagant commitment as large as the Sacred Charge but I believe a small ‘yes’ to go deep in any of these areas will have profound impact. Enjoy!

1) Pray daily: spending 2 hours in prayer and Word (Book of Revelation once a week for 3 years)

2) Fast weekly: setting your heart to fast 2 days a week as a lifestyle

3) Speak boldly: standing as a faithful witness in allegiance to Jesus’ heart for the Church, Israel and the nations

4) Do Justly: doing works of justice focusing on the fatherless and oppressed

5) Give extravagantly (beyond your tithe)

onething ’08

In a few hours I’ll be on the road to Kansas City for another Onething ’08 conference. I’m not looking forward to the 18+ hour road trip, but spending it with Tallahassee friends as well as getting to see some KC and DC friends once up there should be worth it.

Also, the majority of the conference is going to be focusing on the book of Revelation and God’s end-time plan. This should be exciting and informative, seeing as how needed it is in this hour has always been, especially in this time of history. Go to www.ihop.org for more information.

Esther Fast

UPDATE:

We have been on an Esther fast from October 5th through October 7. This is the 3rd day. We are fasting for the debates and a greater amount of breakthrough over this time.

Day 1 wasn’t so bad, just a bit unsettled.

Day 2 was just plainly an incredible longing to eat.

Day 3 so far has been a slight nauseous feeling combined with the general feeling of weakness.

God, however, has been giving us much breakthrough. Also, I’ve lost 14 pounds since I’ve been up here. Of course, I was Daniel fasting before I left so I was probably overloaded on carbs.

In other news, the batteries ran out on my camera so all pics are on hold unto I get a hold of some batteries.

Gov. Crist Names Ricky Polston to FL Supreme Court

Today, Wednesday, October 1, 2008, Gov. Charlie Crist named Ricky Polston to Florida Supreme Court. This might seem normal or coincidental, but I believe the prayers of the saints act as his escort into the highest court in the state of Florida.

For months, many of us have been asking God that He would influence Gov. Crist’s heart to appoint a righteous Justice, specifically Judge Polston. I don’t think this is a coincidence. I believe this again is the brilliance of God. I’m stoked, man!

God answers prayer. Dare might I say that a group of young (and old) people are taking place in shaping the history of a state and nation? I think so. And now… we thank God.

Today marked the first of 40 days of prayer and fasting to take the nation. All over America, people are joining in 40 day periods to cry out to God. In Washington DC, I’m joining 11 other awesome people to form a core group of intercessors. Today our team took shifts standing before the Supreme Court and manning the JHOP prayer room from 9:30am to 3 in the afternoon. Also, the YWAM group in DC is taking the nightwatch hours which means that we are almost 24/6 during these 40 days. This came upon us pretty unexpectedly, surprisingly, excitedly and any other “-ly” that could apply. Long story short, we are contending for the in-breaking of God in this nation.

During the 2pm siege shift, two large school groups came to tour the court. They sat on the steps for pictures, then one by one began to notice us. One desire of this prayer movement is to subpoena the conscience of a nation through a piece of red tape with the word LIFE written on it. It amazes me how effective this movement is in accomplishing that. I must have locked eyes with dozens of kids who were mesmerized by the whole thing. Through tour guides speaking directly to them, they kept looking. Through tourists running by, they kept looking. I would glance away and back again, and still they were looking.

I say all that to say this: I believe God birthed a movement through LIFE tape that prophesies His heart unto a nation and anyone who sees it. It sends forth the silent cries of the unborn like arrows that pierce the hearts of every earthly and heavenly force there is … And through it all, we don’t even need to say anything.

Man. This is the brilliance of God.

I ask that you would keep us in your prayers that God might open the door unto the spiritual realm over us over these 40 days.

Dutch Sheets “under-the-radar” prayer meeting at a small church. Rick Pino randomly showed up to attend. Basically we spent the whole time in declarations and decrees in true Dutch fashion.

I have been invited to go to Washington DC for 40 days of fasting, prayer and Silent Siege in Washington, DC calling for a pro-life President, righteous Judges, the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the Marriage Amendments in California and Florida, and for abortion to be driven like a wedge in the ’08 Elections.

Come Sept. 24, I am going to be joining up with Bound4LIFE and JHOP in DC until Nov. 2 officially, and through the elections unofficially. We are going to be standing on the wall of intercession in the heart of the nation to breakthrough the demonic strongholds warring over America in the heavens.
